Bug[]

I was walking to the area behind the blast furnace on the roof to get the ingots, then i fell through. I was gonna post this but I think someone has put it on the page already. Problem is, that the person who wrote that glitch wasn't clear at all.--Master of cheeZ 01:50, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Name[]

Just some random pondering, but in my first trip to the Steelyard I was reminded somewhat of Stalker, particularly around the Chernobyl plant. Then I realised that Steelyard is also the name given to the radar installation in that area (a.k.a The Russian Woodpecker, or Duga 3 to use its official designation) that inspired the latter's Brain Scorcher. Coincidence? Not really notable enough to go in the article, but I thought it was interesting. --Vometia 21:29, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

Do we need to make a Notable Loot section here?[]

As of right now, most of the really notable loot is listed under "Noteworthy Sites", however there is quite a bit of loot scattered around the area that may be useful. Seeing as most player will be here with out their OWN loot since it gets taken away when you enter The Pitt, I think that almost anything is notable such as stimpacks, rad away and rad-x (due to radiation in many places), and certainly almost ANY weapon or armor you can get your hands on. Should we add another section here and clean this up a bit so it is more in line with the rest of the locations on the site? Saving the Noteworthy Sites for things like Wild Bill?--Jimimorrison 07:34, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

Well, I have a normal water on my PC, and there is no radiation around (only 7 rads in water, while wearing Gamma Shield armor) http://i26.fastpic.ru/big/2011/0704/49/f2cab99f4167766ffa8e8974f85de849.png (don't mind this scrollbar thing, it's a kind of desktop bug) Brush.titizen 15:32, July 4, 2011 (UTC) Thanks for the picture of the BLUE RIVER. it is that blue.--1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 12:31, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

The BLUE RIVER runs almost right round the PITT but is only found outside the game area.[]

The only part of the Pittsburg river that is in the game area is the death rad part found when crossing the first 10th Street Bridge as a slave. The rest is outside the game area part of which along with the second bridge crossing can be seen on the PipBoy map--1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 07:39, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Protectrons not hostile[]

Just thought I'd add that I've activated the four Protectrons outside the Supply Plant and they were not hostile to my character at all. They just walk around saying 'Move along, please' and shooting any Trog that gets near. My character does have the Robotics Experts perk, maybe that explains it? Thought I'd hear other people's opinions before I added to the main article. If anyone could check on a GECK that would be great, I'm on 360 version. Chiliflamingo 19:35, April 28, 2010 (UTC)

They are not hostile to the lone wanderer, only trogs and wildmen (I think). I don't have Robotics Expert and also the one in the factory place is not hostile either. DiarrheaDELUXE 20:51, July 2, 2010 (UTC)DiarrheaDELUXE

XBOX-360. To get to the BLUE RIVER, the SECOND SUSPENSION BRIDGE and beyond .[]

The Pitt area does not resemble Pittsburg. The only areas that resemble the hills and canyons of Pittsburg are found outside the game area along with a second suspension bridge. To access the blue river and another copy of the 10th Street Suspension Bridge which can first be seen on the LHS when when entering the PITT BRIDGE CROSSING. Enter the Steelyard. Climb the stairs at the far SW corner. Keep climbing until you are just below the large open cooling tower with the dead bodies and 1 Rad.You should be on the walkway corner facing north looking down onto a corrugated roof that overlooks the four domes. Jump down to the roof .Look west and see two pipes below crossing over the top of the 4 domes to a chain fence with a gap on the left hand side.Jump down to the RHS pipe and walk across.Jump up to the shallow roof and go though the LHS gap.You are now outside the play area. Continue on the roof going west. Jump off the roof to a lower roof and walk North. Wall on there right, death drop on the left. At the end of the roof turn East and continue walking. At the end of the roof turn south and see a lower roof to the east.Jump down to the the roof. Go north and enter a square sloping lattice and walk down to the flat surface below the base of the buildings. If you walk east you will come to the rear side of the train tunnel. If you want back into the game area climb the sloping lattice 55 running paces to a dome top over looking the railway yard and above the highest pipes.Jump down pipe by pipe pipe until you land back in the train yard.It won't kill you unless you miss a pipe. If you want to explore out side the game area carry on walking North past tall skyscraper buildings until you come to an infinitely deep canyon river 1 rad. The banks are too high to get back but you can swim. Swim south west, then south, then south east then east until you pass under a suspension bridge. This bridge is a partially finished copy of Pittsburg 10th Steet Brige and can be seen on your Pip Boy map crossing the river on the RHS edge of the map.Just past this bridge you can climb out on the RHS. Keep going east and pass between the invisible Pitt train yard and the Pitt Bridge coming eventually to the end of the river at the bottom left hand corner of the Map. You can from that point then fast travel back to the Pitt Steelyard --1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 07:43, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
