1st Recon Survival Armor/1st Recon Assault Armor[]
There is a bug in the 360 version of the game where Boone won't upgrade to this after you get him as a companion, anyone know of a way to fix/avoid this? --ABCoLD 17:07, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

- I got the same. Are we sure it's a bug? I'm wondering if anyone's actually managed to get it, it might be a reward for the quest I Forgot to Remember to Forget, which triggers as failed if Boone dies. I'm not sure how to get this quest to start yet, but you slowly unlock dialogue with Boone as you either kill Legionnaires or gain NCR faction, I haven't worked out which. --Flower of Pock-Lips 22:17, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

An unlisted quest bug (PC)[]
after traveling to Novac as per usual and speaking to Boone he acted as though he had already killed a man in the quest. I haven't seen an obvious way out of this yet. --74.232.75.152 14:03, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

I never started the quest, but when I tried to talk to Boone, he just asked me right away "how I knew". Then, suddenly the quest gets added and is finished one second later, leaving me the SPEECH option. I got his beret in return, without doing anything. I recalled that I was attacked by raiders near the dinosaur once and some random bullet killed a raider. It was akward. I didn't knew then, but after reading about this quest, I realized it might have triggered Boone and the quest.
I also have this bug. I never even talked to Boone before, only did the REPCONN quest for Manny. Now when I talk to Boone he just asks how I know. I tried solving the problem with the console but that doesn't seem to work, too. The quest stays marked as 'Not started', even if you start it with the console it immediately switches to 'Not started' once you resume with the quest. Strangely Manny is still alive but just stays in his home the whole time. If I pass the speech check and Boone becomes my companion he walks out and guards the Dino, though. --84.62.169.178 22:54, November 27, 2012 (UTC)
Proper editing of articles[]
Please remember to not put info in 1st person in the articles. Example: "When I did this, this thing happened." It makes the article appear very poorly written. Also, do some research prior to listing something as a bug in the article. Talk about it in the discussion, first. A good example would be people saying that there is a bug that won't give you the dialog option to meet in front of the dinosaur. This is likely incorrect, as the usual reason for the dialog not being available is that Boone is not on shift at the time (9 pm to 9 am), and thus is not available to shoot that person. BaseID?[]
I have been looking for the BaseID for this quest, but i havent found anything. I need it so i can reset this quest to a pre bugged status (Cant get people out in front of the dino)
I murdered Jeannie May myself, prior to starting quest[]
I have the bill of sale from the safe, but talking to Boone only makes him tell me to bring someone in front of the dinosaur again. Is there any workaround ? I should note that I murdered Jeannie May long before I knew about Boone at all, it's not like I killed her right before I decided to do his quest.
It turns out that, with a high enough speech skill, he can be convinced, regardless of who you had him kill. Might be important to note in case anyone else kills Jeannie May before realising her importance in the quest.
Utilize Your Speech[]
If you have Boone kill vargas, you can get a nifty 1st Recon Beret and a hunting rifle fairly early in the game. If you lie to Boone, telling him that you had substantial proof (process of elimination, ha) you'll also get an excellent sharpshooter companion. Useful if you don't want to do Come Fly With Me (a pain in-the-ass quest imo) but still want all the steps for They Went That-A-Way.
Repairing 1rst recon beret with boone's beret?[]
- If i use Boone's beret to repair a 1rst recon beret, before sending someone to the front of the dinosaur, will i beable to complete this quest?

- Boone doesn't give you "Boone's beret", he gives you a normal "1st Recon beret", so yes, using the 1st Recon beret will work. --Kastera (talk) 21:42, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
NCR Reputation?[]
Boone won't talk to me and my NCR Reputation is Good-Natured rascal. I think having good Legion reputation prevents him (and Arcade Ganon) from joining you, not bad NCR Reputation.

Not a bug?[]
In the bugs section it says to wait until midnight to make her go in front of the dino. But this has to be done at night, not because it's a bug, but because Boone is in the dino's mouth only *at night*
