"Please, someone tell me how to find it without a map marker." The discussion page is not a help desk. TearsOfBlood 09:17, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

It's directly north of the Washington Monument. MisterPuck 17:35, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Added directions. Mirar 22:12, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

The same directions are in Location and in Access. One of them should be deleted.

The access section says that the only way to get here is through the Metro. While perhaps the easiest way, it is not the only way. I happened to find it by going through the Capitol Building where all the Super Mutants and Raiders are fighting. NeonKow 12:33, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

The books might be hard to find[]

Please disregard previous "glitch" post. Books don't disappear. Just look in the proper places and look hard!

It's not the "Museum of American History" in-game[]

It's the Museum of History.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.228.197.92 (talkcontribs) 04:23, May 11, 2009. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

And actually the entrance and architecture look incredibly similar to the real-world Smithsonian Museum of Natural History rather than of American History. I'm pretty sure it's on the same geographic location on the Mall, though the Museums of American and Natural History are right next to each other. It doesn't make much difference since in-game it seems as if both real-world museums are kind of merged into one considering the Lincoln paraphernalia the Museum of History contains. ~Iridia talk | contrib 12:38, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Agree, it is not. Is there a reason why it is still listed as such, locations project page, specifically? MrsMcEntire420 05:14, June 12, 2011 (UTC)

Getting out of the map[]

Found a way.

Fast travel to the Museum of History. Notice the 2 mailboxes (one was empty, the other, for me, had 1 Wonderglue in it). Also notice the big hill of debris. (this is the right side of the building itself, btw) Simply rapidly press Y while moving from left to right. Eventually you'll be able to climb right up the hill and you can see outside the map, and even inside the buildings themselves.

Another funny thing, if you continue walking out east from the Museum of History after climbing the hill, you can continue walking for miles without actually hitting the world barrier, however, the world map will show your players arrow as being where the world barrier is, no matter how far away from the Capital Wasteland you run.

Since this game is played on multiple platforms, instead of calling button pushes by the console-specific name "Y", please use the function of the button instead, in this case "Jump." 24.6.4.179 12:56, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Exhibit Security* Gates[]

I play on the Xbox 360. I went to the computer that controls the exhibit security gates. I managed to get ex. the first time but on the second, third, and fourth attempts (and so on) it did not give me ex. for picking the locks. I even exited and entered the building entirely. It did not work. Just thought that I would document this happening on my console. Thank you. --HeadphoneDisaster 22:00, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

This does not work for me either. I believe the person who posted this may have been speculating and did not actually test it, at least with patch 1.5.0.23. 76.101.142.60 02:18, September 18, 2009 (UTC)

Access from Metro[]

Truisms always evade my cognitive abilities; I assume there must be something I am missing. It is a no-brainer that if a player is visiting the History Museum, they should fast travel there rather than the Metro, so why say so? I thought it was more complicated than that, or I would have just deleted it in the first place. Additionally, the chances are that players will be looking for advice here if they have not already visited, in which case the advice is even more meaningless, as they will not have the Museum fast travel point yet. Duvock's Place[]

I can't belive I used to think that the Museum was near Duvock's place. The places look so simmlar. I used to spend minutes trying to fiqure out the entrance to the museum now only to find out... IT'S ON THE OTHER @!#%*&$ SIDE OF THE MAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --Please Welcome NCR President Andrew Parker 08:47, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Lincoln's Voice[]

I've got an item named "Lincoln's voice" which doesn't seem to be mentionned at all in this article.

it's under "Museum of History offices", press "more"
