GOB the band[]

The "GOB" band reference is assuredly pure coincidence considering that the devs didn't leave any clues at all making a 2nd reference to this band or it's members. Such as can be seen from the planetarium's computer using both the lyrics and the band member's name.KDI000 10:30, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Furthermore, "gob" is slang for "mouth" or "jaw", at least where I come from (the UK, for reference). So yeah, I'd say it has nothing to do with the band.--Solbur 17:53, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

ala Gobstoppers. ···· :D Beev 13:52, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

It's also a biblical name. It can be spelled both Job or Gob.

What the hell?[]

"Major Cleanup" detail[]

Fixed grammar. Moved items more appropriately in "Notes" section to "Notes" section. Created links where possible. Moved other notes and bugs to appropriate sections, cleaning the list. Removed redundant note (Carol and Bob).

For consistency with other articles:

  • Renamed "Possible Bugs" to "Bugs"
  • Moved "Bugs" section below "Notes" section
  • Made header concise (NPC introductions shouldn't contain long expositions of dialogue options and effects)

I've noticed this on Red's and Angelaa Staley's pages as well, but there are problems with the "Interations with player" section. Gob IS a merchant but the table says he isn't. similar issues with Red and Angela. I'd fix this but I have no idea how... Jordanish 17:08, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
The interactions tables are new and were just added today. They haven't been filled out for the majority of pages yet. There is a description of how to fill them out at {{Interactions FO3}}. For the "merchant" display to show "yes", you have to enter either the kind of wares a character sells ("wares" parameter) or the amount of caps ("caps" parameter) the character has available for trading (or both). -- Porter21 (talk) 17:17, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Gobtholemew?[]

Where did Gobtholemew come from?--Niksilp 01:58, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

I have no clue. i'm removing it until proof is provided that is his name. 207.164.136.6 17:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

It's from the official Prima strategy guide - it's actually mentioned on the second page of the free PDF preview at their site. --BADavid 00:05, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

If thats the case, then it might not be a bug that Moriarty claims to have named gob. Moriarty may have gotten drunk and noticed him talking too much and just started calling him gob, while Carol may be using it as a short version of his actual name. That explanation sorta makes sence. This is just speculation on my part, but the guide does confirm Gobtholemew. JerichoRCDF 20:37, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

If the guide is official, shouldn't it still be in the article? -132.183.138.175 04:30, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Reverse Pickpocket?[]

Has anyone else noted that you can't give Gob any decent armour by using the reverse pickpocketing option? I tried it several times, and it never seems to work. Kjericho76 16:59, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that, when I tried to reverse-Pickpocket a wig onto him to see what he would look like withit on but he never equipped it. should someone add this to the notes or the bugs section?--Chargersphinx 02:27, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

Punching Bag?[]

Since he's the town punching bag,can you punch him without the law coming to shoot you down? HuangLee 04:14, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

He is called "the town's punching bag" because people insult him, and treat him badly..

Gobs Saloon[]

Can anyone give me a time frame as to how long after Moriarty's death that this happens? --CiaoGamer 01:49, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

WTF? Gob is a thief![]

I was hanging around Gob a bit, and later I killed him. Checked the fridge with supplies, and in there was my 'Doctor Preston's Room Key', my 'Merc Trouble Maker Outfit', My 'Crutch' and two of my stealth boys! I'm glad I killed the bastard...

AND... NO I didn't sell this stuff to him.

Simpsons[]

I made an edit on the behind the scenes section saying that he is a reference to Moe in the Simpsons. Gob and Moe are both bartenders, both ugly, and both sound alike. Why was this removed from the article? Tezzla Cannon 16:13, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Because that is a coincidence just because they are both ugly bartenders and sound raspy doesn't mean that it is a referance.--Chargersphinx 02:30, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

Sarah Jessica Parker[]

What's the deal with this page repeatedly being vandalized by adding Sarah Jessica Parker's name after Gob's? Kris (talk) 21:00, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
