Default sorting order[]

Now that sorting by columns work (except by weight, wondering how to force column sorting criterion to use numeric comparisons instead of alphabetic), what's the typical default sorting order for item lists? Alphabetic?

Like I stated on your talk page, generally speaking it's alphabetically. There are some exceptions, and some exclusions to that rule. Take for instance how we deal with unique items of a base item. In a table, you'll typically see all non-unique base items listed alphabetically, but any unique items of that base item will be listed directly beneath that base item, the uniques in alphabetical order, also. You can easily see this on any of the weapon overview articles like Fallout: New Vegas weapons. Some exceptions to that rule might be articles that have items listed from multiple games, and you'll sometimes see things listed in precedence of canon, ie. Fallout items, then Fallout 2 items, etc. We usually order list and tables this way because we feel it's easier for a user to find an item in a table they're looking for by listing those items in the first column alphabetically. Making tables sortable (and getting that to work on all of them, thanks again) helps the user sort them by any other column they desire to make comparisons, etc. I'll go ahead and re-order these alpha, but we'll certainly keep the class="unsortable" part you added to the headers. The Gunny UserGunny chevrons 01:03, January 28, 2015 (UTC)
You beat me to it again:P Let me know if you can find any tricks to get the last bit to sort right. The Gunny UserGunny chevrons 01:04, January 28, 2015 (UTC)
I remembered the trick: place a span with a transparent 0 in front of the single digit. Should look like 0. That'll force it to sort right when text is mixed with numbers. The Gunny UserGunny chevrons 01:13, January 28, 2015 (UTC)
