Where does this item come from?[]

I'm aware it's used in recipes but i've never seen any of it growing inside ANY caves... what does it look like? is it a bug that it got left out of the game? does it only grow in one place?

I've only found one inside Vault 22, the one with the plants. Don't know where else it might be.--Resplendant Securitron 23:26, October 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • I have one in my aid container and I have no clue where I fount it. It may have been vault 22. It looks just like Iguana Bits and strange meat. It is odd that it's an ingredient in Hydra, needing 5 of them per batch, yet there is none to be found.
  • There is lots of cave fungus growing in caves in Zion. It does not look like the cave fungus you used to get from dead legion soldiers. It seems to work the same, though.DarthOrc 22:41, July 20, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc

Stub or no Stub[]

I painstakingly went through every single cave and there is no fungus just "Growing" in the caves. I am pretty sure they messed up with this item, so I'm not sure there ever will be any more lore released on it. Should this item remain as a stub?Shadowlady Pain 23:36, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

Fungi (in the wild)[]

Is it just me or is this the same mesh from TES: Oblivion?

Regrow[]

I know other plants regrow throughout the Mojave, so does cave fungus regrow after you've picked it? Kastera (talk) 05:58, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Good question, I also noticed that plants in Zion regrow much faster than those in the Mojave. Mictlantecuhtli 16:28, August 5, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, it does regrow, about as fast as the other vegetation in Zion, which is faster than in the Mojave. (Maybe because of the rain?)DarthOrc 05:27, August 6, 2011 (UTC)DarthOrc
