Do Ghoulified children age?[]

We all know Ghouls do not age in the traditional way. However in the case of this Ghoul since he is a child and ghoul do age just a drastically reduced speed would he grow up or fall apart and eventually die as a child due to the gradual cellular degeneration all Ghoul face.

Its not entirely clear, I would say probably... I am working under the assumption that billys situation is unique, the most plausible explanation for his survival all these yearsis that he must haeentered some sort of dormant state where he was sustained only by radiation. If such a dormant state is possible amongst ghouls (which may explain many things about Ferals) then he might not have adged simply because he was in that state. ralok (talk) 18:35, December 2, 2015 (UTC)

Survival[]

How did Billy survive 210 years in the fridge?? There would't have been any air, water or food for him even if he's a ghoul because they still need all those things to survive. Also he wouldn't have been able to walk after sitting in that position for 210 years. Nick3258 (talk) 05:19, December 6, 2015 (UTC)

  • As I said above, the most logical conclusion seems to be that Ghouls can enter a dormant state for extended periods of time where they are sustained only by radiation... that or they can simply be sustained by only radiation. But the dormant state makes a lot more sense as that seems to be what many Feral Ghouls in the game are doing when you encounter them, and it seems to have been the goal of those Ghoul Cultists in New Vegas (fly up into space, survive off cosmic radiation forever) ralok (talk) 22:58, December 7, 2015 (UTC)
  • Is it explicitly stated he was in there for 210 years? It seems to me that was only something the SS assumed, but I wouldn't be surprised if I missed out on the dialogue involving that. --MagnetWasp (talk) 20:14, December 11, 2015 (UTC)
I don't explicitly recall it saying that he has been there for 210 years, but his speech certainly implies it. He is also completely unaware oh what a ghoul is, as the conversation between him and his parents suggests. I'd be pretty comfortable saying that he did have the misfortune of being stuck in a fridge for over 2 centuries. Sakaratte (talk) 20:21, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
He survived only because of the developers of FO4. There is (or rather, was) nothing in FO lore that would suggest that ghouls can survive w/o food or water. And then - POOF- one goof from Bethesda's team retcons the whole ghoul lore. Billy is among the silliest, most improbable entries in FO4 and was the game-breaking point for me. Yep, I'm back playing FO:NV now and I henceforth consider FO4 to be non-canon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.91.196.4 (talkcontribs) 13:18, August 30, 2017. You forget about Coffin Willie: NcWillie.msg , 304: Nothing more boring than bein' in a coffin for months. Maybe Billy is the record holder in the anabiosis?--ExplorerSmaily (talk) 20:41, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

And we must remember that such ghouls as Woody can sleep for a very very long time. And nothing bad happened to them. --ExplorerSmaily (talk) 14:54, March 20, 2018 (UTC)
The way I see this working, is that ghouls can enter an inactive state... in this inactive state, they can be sustained by radiation. When they are awake they need food and water like normal humans because radiation alone simply isnt enough to keep them alive... but in their hibernative state, their other bodily processes slow down to the point where its enough. ralok (talk) 23:40, June 29, 2018 (UTC)
