The Subjugator bears heavy similarities to Cobra Commander from the G.I. Joe franchise. Both are the sinister, silver-masked leaders of villainous snake-themed organizations, with the Subjugator's "Red Vipers" corresponding to Cobra Commander's "Cobra" terrorists.
