An affluent lawyer, Leek penned an angrily worded letter to his senator criticizing the lack of military response to evacuating the resorts.[1] He wrote at length about the sizable donation he had made to his last campaign and if not rescued quickly, would return to Washington, D.C. and he and the senator would have "a long talk" about the politician's future.
