Skeletons are the remains of deceased people and creatures.

Background[]

The bones of creatures and human beings found in various places across the former United States.

Characteristics[]

The Lone Wanderer can pick up skeletons, but not loot them. One may also find skeletons near weapons, ammunition, notes and medical supplies. They may even correlate with unmarked quests. Skeletons can also stretch out, they will sometimes fling when interacted with. Some skeletons are smaller than the normal variant.

In Point Lookout, the submerged skeleton of a T-Rex can be found underwater, south-southeast of the coastal grotto, under a buoy accompanied by a human skeleton with a lever-action rifle. The Museum of History contains another T-Rex skeleton. The skeleton of Captain Carl Bell, the first human in space on board the Defiance 7, is on display at the Museum of Technology.[1] His remains were donated to the museum by Edwina Bell.[1]

Named skeletons[]

Appearances[]

Skeletons appear in Fallout 3.

Behind the scenes[]

In the real world, decay equates to skeletons disintegrating as opposed to maintaining their shape. In-game, they are seen posed and intact as a gameplay mechanic utilized to aid in storytelling.
