Sinclair was a man in the Commonwealth in 2287.
Background[]
According to Robert MacCready, Sinclair's partner caught a mysterious disease which involved blue boils breaking out all over their skin. Desperate to find a cure, Sinclair eventually found information on a universal cure developed at the Med-Tek Research facility in Medford. He even uncovered security passwords for the facility's defenses. He approached MacCready in 2287 hoping for his support in breaching Med-Tek Research. However, Sinclair's partner died before he actually went to Med-Tek Research, and he gave the security codes to MacCready and abandoned the situation.[1]

Robert MacCready: "I was hoping you'd say that. A few months before we met, I bumped into a guy named Sinclair who claimed his buddy caught some kind of a disease. I thought he was wasting my time until he said his partner broke out in blue boils. They dug up information about a cure at a place called Med-Tek Research. They even managed to grab the building's lockdown security codes. Unfortunately, Sinclair's buddy died before they were able to break into the facility. I mean, there's no way that's a coincidence, right? Med-Tek has to be the place."
