For the specific scouting faction in Fallout 76, see Pioneer Scouts. |
---|
Scouts were members of a recreational youth program before the Great War.
Background[]
In Zion Canyon, one can find a crashed scout bus, consisting of the remains of a group of scouts. Joshua Graham sends the Courier and Follows-Chalk to retrieve items from the wreckage, and Follows-Chalk will tell the Courier about the conversation they had regarding the site. He shares that Joshua told him the remains belong to scouts, but that they looked too small to him.[1]
Notes[]
- Remnants of scout outfits can be found in the Capital Wasteland and the Mojave Desert, worn by various children including Sammy in Little Lamplight, Kenny in Point Lookout, and the Forecaster at the 188 Trading Post.
- On the Enclave Radio broadcast, John Henry Eden refers to the Brotherhood of Steel as "power-armored boy scouts."[2]
- A skill book found several places in the former state of California is titled the Scout Handbook, described as including "methods and ideals of scouting. Very practical information regarding outdoor life."
- A scouting organization named the Pioneer Scouts operated before the Great War. Recreational camps belonging to the group are located in Appalachia, where robots programmed by the organization are still operational. It is unclear if they are intended to be the same group mentioned in previous games.
Appearances[]
Scouts are mentioned in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts, and Fallout 76.
