Ranunculacae serranus, commonly called hubflower in the Commonwealth and soot flower in Appalachia, is a world object in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.[1]
Characteristics[]
The herbaceous plant is a mutated variant of the Ranunculacae genus, prolific before the Great War as hubflowers in the Commonwealth and soot flowers in Appalachia. They are now sizable bushes with large, hanging, bitter-tasting purple flowers that have restorative effects.[2]
They can also be processed into a variety of curatives, ranging from herbal teas and pastes, salves, and a variety of drugs.[3] Because of the inherent bitterness of the flower, ingesting of the flower requires additional ingredients to create palatable tea.
Behind the scenes[]
In the real world, Ranunculaceae is an entire family (not genus) of plants commonly known as "buttercups".
