After an experimental treatment, intense radiation keeps your body operating at peak performance regardless of crippling injuries... right up until death. When you suffer from Advanced Radiation Poisoning, crippled limbs automatically regenerate.— In-game description

Rad Regeneration is a quest perk in Fallout 3.

Effects[]

Here, take a few radiation Chems, as my little way of saying, "I'm sorry I twisted your DNA like a kitten with a ball of yarn."Moira Brown

When under the effects of Advanced Radiation Poisoning (400+ Rads) any crippled limbs will automatically regenerate. This perk is gained by getting exposed to Critical Radiation Poisoning (600+ rads) for Moira's Wasteland Survival Guide. This mutation is a result of Moira's experimental radiation treatment.

Notes[]

  • Advanced Rad Poisoning causes a loss of two points of Endurance and one point of Agility. This equates to a temporary skill reduction of four to Big Guns and Unarmed, as well as two to Small Guns, Sneak, and total Action Points.
  • Adamantium Skeleton is better at protecting limbs from crippling injury, yet it carries no penalties. However, Rad Regeneration is easier to get, and having the regeneration active means that a limb will start healing as soon as it gets crippled, and even having a single point of 'limb health' means that the limb is no longer crippled.
  • The perk still exists in the game files of Fallout: New Vegas, albeit only as legacy content.
