These prospectors are the scavengers and miners scattered across northern-central California in Fallout 2.

Characteristics[]

The town of Redding experienced a gold rush. Although the bulk of the organized mining operations was concentrated in the town itself, groups of fortune-seekers prospectors sought to locate and exploit new veins of gold in the surrounding area — though this was not always without danger.[1][2] Some were armed in order to fend off "claim jumpers," who sought to steal their land.[3][4][5] Prospectors seek an audience with President Tandi for the rights to engage in these endeavors.[6][7]
