The pressure plate is a settlement object in Fallout 4.

Pressure plates act as a switch for connected objects, that are not directly connected to a power source. Connecting a plate to a trap like the Tesla arc will enable to trap to activate once weight is applied to the plate. Alternatively, the plate can be used to power other objects such as lights and terminals.
