The powered water pump is a world object that is added to Fallout 4 with the Wasteland Workshop add-on.

Characteristics[]

The powered water pump is an upgrade to the normal water pump, providing an increased amount of water for settlements. Not only must it be placed on dirt like its unpowered predecessor, but it also requires 4 units of power to operate. In return, the pump provides 10 units of water, equalling a basic water purifier in terms of output. Though it has the advantage of not requiring a water body to install like the purifier, this is offset by a greater power requirement to operate.

Crafting[]

The powered water pump is located under Resources → Water in the workshop.

Notes[]

  • The powered water pump (and the unpowered version) can be built on a garden plot, either on the ground or elevated.
  • This does not work at settlements like Home Plate, Mechanist's lair and Boston Airport, as none of these locations allow the garden plot to be built.
  • Having built a pump (either type) in any valid initial location, it is then possible to relocate the pump to a garden plot that is elevated, for example on a roof or similar surface.
  • Using this method it is possible to vertically stack multiple powered pumps or unpowered pumps above one another, increasing the maximum yield that would otherwise be limited by the amount of ground area available.
