Fallout TV seriesPlan D

A poison is a chemical substance that is harmful to lethal to living organisms. Not to be confused with animal venom, poisons require to be ingested, injected, or absorbed through the skin or a wound. However, venoms are often an ingredient in the creation of poisons. The effects of poison can often be negated through the use of Antivenom.

In Fallout: New Vegas, poison is a dedicated type of consumable. It can be applied to either Unarmed, Melee Weapons, or thrown melee weapons, and takes effect on the next entity to be attacked with the poisoned weapon. The poison is applied to a melee or throwing weapon by equipping the weapon and "consuming" the poison. The poison will then be taken out of one's inventory and then added to the weapon. Besides finding poisons, different types of poisons can also be crafted at a campfire, provided the character's Survival skill is high enough. Killing NPCs by the poison effect will not affect the player character's faction reputation.

Silver Sting is the simplest and easiest poison to create. It is derived from radscorpion and bark scorpion venom and is a potent cytotoxin. When injected, it causes a spreading feeling of weakness and considerable agitation of the wound site, causing -2 Strength and causing 80 damage over 10 seconds.

Bleak venom[]

Bleak venom is a lethal cardiotoxin derived from the poison glands of Cazadores and bark scorpions that causes considerable damage to a target, dealing 15 damage per second during a span of 10 seconds.

Mother Darkness is a potent neurotoxin, derived primarily from bark scorpion venom mixed with White horsenettle. It causes muscular paralysis, a spreading numbness, and hallucinations, causing -3 to both Agility and Perception, as well as doing 80 damage over the course of 10 seconds. This makes it useful against faster enemies and enemies who rely on marksmanship.

Tremble[]

Tremble is a devastating neurotoxin that causes uncontrollable spasms and tremors. Arguably one of the most effective poisons in the game, it causes violent shaking fits so bad that weapon use is rendered extremely difficult if not impossible. Accuracy becomes moot when one can't stop shaking, and even melee weapons suffer slowed swing rates as the unfortunate struggles with their uncooperative body to swing their weapons. In short, it causes a massive, 50-point reduction in every weapon skill the subject has (other than unarmed) for 20 seconds. It also deals 40 damage over these 20 seconds.

Cloud Kiss[]

Gameplay article: Dead Money

Cloud Kiss uses the corrosive and poisonous attributes of Sierra Madre's Cloud and mixes it with common household cleaning products to make a deadly venom. It comes in weak, potent and lethal varieties. Each tier damages health more quickly and over a longer duration.

Dark Datura[]

Gameplay article: Honest Hearts

Dark datura is a poison that causes periodic double vision and blurring while the player is under its effects. This type of venom is favored by the White Legs, likely due to its powerful properties and due to the availability of its ingredients in Zion.

Plan D[]

Plan D was a Vault-Tec product. It is a banana-flavored cyanide product intended to give people the ability to commit suicide in a quick and painless way, rather than face nuclear apocalypse. A single dose was enough to quickly kill an adult and was made available both as pills and presumably pre-mixed vials.
