The override chip is a quest item in Fallout: New Vegas.

It is given to the player character by Yes Man during the Wild Card: Finishing Touches quest to upload at the El Dorado substation. Mr. House gives the Courier the chip for the same purpose for the quest The House Always Wins VII.
