Old Nate was an elderly, wheelchair-bound man who resided at Burdette Manor before the Great War.
Background[]
Old Nate witnessed the bombs go off from the manor. He claims that he did not choose to watch the Great War unfold in his bathrobe "like some venerable old peach." Instead, he says that he was left out to die because he was old and mean. Stubborn until the end, Old Nate cast off any sympathy that anyone may have had for him after his death. Old Nate then injected himself with an IV full of painkillers, laughing at the suckers who would be jealous they did not think of it first.[1]

Prior to Wastelanders, Old Nate was found next to his holotape, in a wheelchair and possessing an oxygen machine. Although the holotape stayed in place, Old Nate, his wheelchair and the oxygen machine were tipped over the ledge. Old Nate now lies in the ground face-first, presumably thrown over by the Blood Eagles that captured the building.
