Similiar to the Joshua tree and banana yucca plant in appearance, it dots the landscape of Nevada and California in its namesake Mojave Desert.

The Mojave yucca is based on the real world Yucca schidigera, likewise colloquially known as "Mojave yucca," a flowering plant that is native to the Mojave Desert.
