Marty was initially reprimanded after he ate all of the Pizzaz Pork Gibs and Might Meat Skins snacks more than once, but his family made a donation to the park, which caused him to be promoted to Assistant to the Park Manager. His title was later changed to Assistant Park Manager.[1] He was tasked with getting several self help books to his boss, as holotapes. These books included Benefits of Corporate Chants, Making it to the Top!, Enduring Individuals, Money Money Money.[2]

Marty's titles are a reference to a running gag from The Office, in which Dwight Schrute (in the U.S. version) or Gareth Keenan (in the U.K. version) repeatedly claims that he is the Assistant Regional Manager, forcing others to correct him with his actual position, the Assistant to the Regional Manager, a much less valuable title.
