Mannequins are world objects found in the Commonwealth.

Background[]

Used primarily by retail stores as in-store displays or window decoration before the Great War, the remnants of these accessories are still found commonly across the region.

Characteristics[]

There are several types of mannequins, both burned and unburned variants. Some are dressed in pre-War clothing, and others are not. The wasteland contains mannequins that are both pristine and damaged, the latter either missing pieces or displaying burn marks. When clothed, the first variant wears a pink laundered dress and the second is dressed in a sweater vest and slacks. Two additional variants can be found, one wearing the Silver Shroud costume at Hubris Comics and another dressed as a British soldier alongside other mannequins as part of the Museum of Freedom exhibit.

Mannequins can be found poised in specific situations in several locations, including in boats, laying in beds, and standing in pre-War houses and living spaces. Several are found in the Parsons State Insane Asylum, in the patient rooms, lining the hallways, and standing in the corners of offices. There is also a closet on the administration level of the asylum that has a pile of mannequins within.

In the Concord Speakeasy, there are several mannequins standing around a decapitated skeleton in a bathtub, holding plungers and machetes, with a skull in the nearby toilet. Nearby is another skeleton laying next to a mannequin in bed, surrounded by chems. In the Warren Theater, a group of mannequins are posed, acting out a performance. There is a synth strider hiding among them, that will attack when one approaches.

At Nuka-World's Fizztop Mountain, a display including miniature mannequins among roses in a broken terminal screen can be found. In Far Harbor a note can be found near several floating mannequins entitled "These mannequins!" that describes the thoughts of a delivery employee, anxious to drop off a shipment of mannequins, mentioning the rest of his crew have made comments about hearing weird noises from the cargo.[1]

In the Pack's section of the park, mannequins have been decorated, combined, and refitted with animal heads, colorful outfits, and hold objects, matching the aesthetic of the gang's area of the amusement park. They are positioned on both sides of the entryway, frame the throne area, and are in around around the bleachers. Another mannequin stands in front of the ride situated in the Nuka-World junkyard.
