Mailboxes are containers and world objects in Fallout 4.
Characteristics[]
There are two types of mailbox in the Commonwealth, the mail deposit box, which have a largely oblong white base with a plaque on the front and a protruding, blue postal chute at the top.
The other type of mailbox is a smaller brown mailbox found at the front of properties for the delivery of mail. The front hatch reads "U.S. MAIL", with an emboss for a plaque to be installed below. In Sanctuary Hills, several of these mailboxes have the resident's names painted in white on the side. Prior to the Great War, these mailboxes were chrome in color.
