LD Smith is a developer who worked at Bethesda Game Studios Dallas on Fallout 76 in additional art direction, first listed in the updated credits with Wastelanders.
Work on the Fallout series[]
Smith was the art director on the Nuclear Winter game mode. He came up with the "firestorm wall" in the game mode, replacing an earlier idea for a radiation cloud, and built a prototype effect that was later translated into the Creation Engine, using the basis of an effect created earlier for a cancelled project at Escalation Studios (which later becomes BGS Dallas). Smith also oversaw the design and creation process of Vault 51 and ZAX 1.3c, as well as the many rewards given to the player in Nuclear Winter as part of the Overseer rank system, which were later redistributed in the game after Nuclear Winter's discontinuation.[1]
