Kaede Ito was a member of the Brotherhood of Steel in Appalachia.
Background[]
Kaede Ito and her brother Jonah were orphaned after the Great War. Unlike her brother, she joined the local Brotherhood of Steel chapter, and attained the rank of Knight.[1] The arrival of the Scorched in Appalachia caused her brother to flee the region,[2] though Kaede stayed and would eventually make her final stand at Fort Defiance.[3] Like others at the fort, she perished; her sacrifice devastated her brother, who returned to Appalachia in 2103 to come to terms with her death.
Appearances[]
Kaede Ito is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update.

- ↑ Vault Dweller: "What happened to your family?"
Jonah Ito: "My parents are long gone. Killed during the War. My sister, Kaede, was a Brotherhood Knight. The best of them, without a doubt. She was so determined to see the world through to a better future. So she fought for it, here at Fort Defiance. Now I get to see the future, and she doesn't."
(Jonah Ito's dialogue) - ↑ Vault Dweller: "Aren't you worried about your safety?"
Jonah Ito: "Why should I be? I've got nothing to live for anymore. When the Scorched came to Appalachia, I ran away. Kaede wanted me to join the Brotherhood with her, but I was afraid to fight. Afraid to die. Now I see it's better to die for something than to live for nothing."
(Jonah Ito's dialogue) - ↑ Vault Dweller: "What's wrong?"
Jonah Ito: "It's... It's my sister... (sob) I thought I was over this already. She took her final stand here... at Fort Defiance. I should have been here with her. I'm such a coward."
