Dr. Jose Brigada was the head researcher on Project Motherlode at Hornwright Industrial before his termination.

Background[]

Brigada created the first designs for the Motherlode while the project was in its early stages.[1] He was intrigued by the addition of Ms. Jackson, a young transfer from Atomic Mining Services, but was skeptical of her abilities.[2] Brigada was shocked when she completed three of the outstanding research quandaries on the Motherlode project, commenting that he was unsure whether Hornwright should fire her for theft of AMS research or award her a Nobel prize.[1]

However, as CEO Daniel Hornwright began to take a more involved role in the project, Brigada was increasingly uncomfortable with his control on the Motherlode. He theorized that Daniel was becoming mentally unwell, given his obsession with the project. He believed that Daniel was looking for a distraction to avoid dealing with the loss of his wife, and in the process, was distracting everyone working on the project.[3][4] Brigada was defiant to Daniel's inconsequential and incessant demands to make the robot more "user-friendly" and "independent," while Ms. Jackson became overworked and Dr. Brigada began to sympathize with her.[5] Eventually, Brigada's resistance led to his firing and replacement with Ms. Jackson, but not before he left a warning urging her to get out while she still could.[3]

Appearances[]

Jose Brigada is mentioned only in Fallout 76.
