Jennifer Lands was Nick Valentine's fiancée. She is mentioned in a terminal entry in the BADTFL regional office, in article 1 on the terminal in the Boston Bugle building and by Nick at the end of the quest Long Time Coming.

Background[]

During Operation Winter's End, Nick Valentine was the lead detective on the investigation's task force, and had been engaged to Jennifer around this time. At some point during the investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco, Firearms and Lasers received intelligence that associates of Eddie Winter were inquiring about Jennifer's whereabouts, but chose not to place her in witness protection in order to avoid compromising the investigation.[1] Jennifer was later murdered in August 2077, gunned down on a road outside a Joe's Spuckies sandwich shop (one owned by Winter no less) in South Boston,[2] with Eddie Winter being suspected.[3]

In October of that year, the Boston Police closed the investigation on Eddie Winter, as he made a deal with the BADTFL and the district attorney to incriminate his associates. The deal granted Eddie immunity from being prosecuted for his crimes, including Jennifer's murder.[4] Over 200 years later, a synth with the memories and personality of Nick Valentine would seek revenge on a ghoulified Eddie for Jennifer and the original Nick.
