Government aid drops are world objects in Fallout 76.

Characteristics[]

Government aid drops are green metal crates that contain randomized loot. They are dropped by automated National Catastrophe Relief Auxiliary cargobots, which can be summoned by inserting a US government supply requisition holotape into emergency broadcast terminals found at relay towers across Appalachia. The crates are lit by a red flare that emits a small pillar of smoke.

Potential contents[]

Location[]

  • Government aid drops are deployed at random locations near the relay tower where they are summoned during Request Government Air Drop. The location of a drop is marked on the map.
  • A government aid drop is also rewarded for completing the Collision Course event.
  • In one random encounter the player encounters an aid drop, often surrounded by enemies.
  • Government aid drops can also be obtained through shooting down a cargobot spawned by Hide and Seek and Destroy or as a random encounter.
  • An old government aid container sits on the roof of Clancy Manor.

Notes[]

  • The containers produced by Request Government Air Drop can only be looted by the player who spawned them. The random encounter spawns are not instanced, and the contents may be looted by anyone.
  • Disabling smoke in the game's ini files will remove the smoke produced by government aid drops, making them much more difficult to find.

Bugs[]

  • PCPC Xbox OneXbox One Playstation 4Playstation 4 Government aid drops will draw nearby NPCs, including workshop NPCs and quest NPCs like Bernie.[verified]
  • Initially, if anyone other than the requester took items from the supply drop, they would accrue a 5 cap bounty for each item taken. As of patch 1.0.6.0, requested supply drops cannot be accessed in any way by any character other than the player that requested it.
  • Map markers for supply drops requested by other players once appeared on the map for all players. Fixed in patch 1.1.2.9.
