Garrison "Guy" Foggarty was an author and cryptid researcher before the Great War.

Background[]

A respected field research specialist who started his career investigating the Mothman, Foggarty was interviewed by Julia H. Park of Cryptid Hunter Monthly in August 2077. The interview focused on the subject of whether or not cryptids could reproduce. He pondered if the creatures could survive for centuries, or if they reproduced similar to "less extraordinary specimen."

He posited that, if cryptids reproduced, then they must also conduct mating rituals, which could change how cryptid hunters approach their work. If human contact coincided with cryptid mating seasons, then hunters could more easily predict their movements, according to Foggarty. To replicate this, Foggarty suggested luring out cryptids by emulating these mating rituals, which Park expressed surprise at, as Foggarty was essentially suggesting hunters to go out and "woo" cryptids. Foggarty responded by saying that he was simply "raising the question of 'emulation.'"

Foggarty was slated to release a new book, Cryptic Cryptids: The Puzzle of Procreation, in early 2078, though the Great War struck first.[1]

Appearances[]

Garrison Foggarty is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wild Appalachia update.
