A flight data recorder is a copper globe orb mounted on a metal frame. It may be found in the cockpit of an aircraft, and it may be accompanied by a holotape with the last words of the aircraft's pilots.

- Even though the Horizon Flight 1207 crash site can be explored, the whereabouts of the data recorder for the plane are unknown.
- Collecting a flight data recorder from Skylanes Flight 1665 and Skylanes Flight 1981 will add a holotape detailing the final moments of the plane it was on board. Buying them from junk merchants will not give a holotape.
