The Forbidden City was a pre-War palace in Beijing, China which served as the home of imperial dynasties for centuries, later becoming a symbol of the country. It is mentioned multiple times in the Fallout series.

The Forbidden City features prominently on the emblem of the People's Liberation Army, seen on the Chinese commando hat and its unique variants the Hat of the People and Chinese General hat, as well as appearing in concept art for the Chinese power armor. It also appears on the Chinese national emblem, which is seen on the pauldrons of an alternative Chinese power armor concept model.

The Forbidden City is mentioned in Fallout 3, its add-ons The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage, Fallout: New Vegas,[2] and Fallout 76. It was also intended to appear in the canceled Fallout Extreme.
