Fallout Shelter Online has an introductory cutscene, like every other game in the series. It's an animated short that introduces the basic conceit behind the game and figures a rare look at Chinese tanks and pre-War uniforms.

From the beginning there has always been chaos. People will suffer shortages of each and every major resource. Oil, electricity, food, water... No corner of this great planet will be unaffected. Fortunately, Vault-Tec has designed the vault of the future! Extensive underground fallout shelters for you and your family. In the event of a catastrophe, nothing will survive. When the surface world becomes a barren wasteland... the lucky few will live on underground!
As overseer, it will be your duty to manage the vault and tend to your dwellers, but don't get too comfortable, your dwellers will always want more. You will have no choice but to leave the vault and venture into the wasteland. On the outside you will be faced with new opportunities, new dangers, and new hope for the future of all mankind.
