By way of a letter to company CEO Daniel Hornwright, it is revealed that the competition between Garrahan Mining Company and Hornwright was rigged by them in order to ensure their own success.
As Garrahan began to lose stock viability, Wharton suggested they move quickly to conduct a hostile takeover, allowing Hornwright access to lucrative proprietary information regarding the excavator power armor.[1]
