Background[]
Sometime in the late 2070s, Don was stationed on the "EXC-97" Rockhound. During this time, he was tasked with operating and maintaining the EXC-97. One of the first issues that he had experienced with the EXC-97 was its exceptionally high energy consumption.[1] Upon the instruction of Penelope Hornwright, Don was asked to lower the EXC-97's newly-added nuclear reactors' energy consumption from 2200MWe to 1750MWe.[2]
Sometime later, Don had to call for a "Severity: Red" scenario due to a major hydraulic leak caused by faulty seals on the main fluid reservoir. This caused him to become annoyed at the maintenance staff's incompetence and state that he would be "deducting downtime losses from employee paychecks."[3] Further on, Don even goes as far as to add a third shift, 11 PM–7 AM, to make up for any lost time.[4]
