Background[]
Before accepting his position at Nuka-World, Derek had practiced as a registered nurse at Medford Memorial Hospital in Medford, Massachusetts. He was eager to work in a children's clinic as unique as Nuka-Town USA's.[1] His co-worker Del Walsh was frustrated with Derek's habit of leaving food out, seeing it as unhygienic.[2]
