I want to know about your beliefs.
Neutral 50
Would you like me to recite some scripture, or did you just want to know more about the Faith?
1
DLC04MarAboutFaithCult
Sounds like just another cult to me.
Neutral 50
No, not exactly. People have clung to many beliefs since the Great War, and some have their foundations in the Faith.
2
Neutral 50
The Bible was around long before the bombs fell, as was my Faith. To us, the War was a great tragedy, but not the True Apocalypse.
3
DLC04MarAboutFaithMission
What exactly is your mission?
Neutral 50
We try to improve the state of the Wasteland by doing good where we can and by spreading the word of the Bible.
4
Neutral 50
We also recover and restore religious relics that we can find, but that's a secondary goal.
5
DLC04MarAboutFaithMom
My mother had a favorite passage from the Bible. Revelation 21:6 - recognize it?
Neutral 50
Of course! "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."
6
Neutral 50
So lovely. Selflessness like that is a rare commodity these days. I can see why that particular passage inspired her.
7
DLC04MarAboutFaithOrigins
How did you become a missionary?
Neutral 50
I was raised at the Abbey of the Road where I was educated until I could receive my Rites of Mission. That's when I first left the Abbey.
8
DLC04MarAboutFaithPassage
Scripture?
Neutral 50
Scripture - the world as told in the Bible. Would you like to hear a verse?
9
I'd like to hear a passage.
Neutral 50
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall rise again incorruptible.
10
Neutral 50
And we shall be changed.
11
Could you recite a passage?
Neutral 50
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
12
Could you recite a passage?
Neutral 50
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.
13
DLC04MarAboutFaithPassNevermind
Yeah, let's not do that.
Neutral 50
Oh, of course, my child. Something else, then?
14
DLC04MarAboutFaithPassRecite
Sure, let's hear it.
Neutral 50
I'm afraid I don't have a copy of the scripture with me, but I can share a few passages. Here's one of my favorites.
15
Neutral 50
I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned;
16
Neutral 50
he has crossed over from death to life.
17
DLC04MarcellaBook0TopLvl
Can we discuss the Blackhall situation?
Neutral 50
I fear Obadiah is in dire straits. What do you want to talk about?
18
DLC04MarcellaBookMoreInfo
Tell me more about this Book that's so important.
Neutral 50
Obadiah's a good man, but his family has an evil past. This book is an unwanted heirloom, and the foundation of the heathen Krvibi ritualists.
19
DLC04MarcellaBookWhatNow
What should I be doing again?
Neutral 50
I told you about their ritual site, remember? See if they're hiding the book there and bring it back to me. From there? I don't yet know.
20
DLC04MarcellaLetterDeliver
Obadiah Blackhall sent me. I have a letter.
Neutral 50
Obadiah sent you? Well, then, let's see what he has to say.
21
Neutral 50
(Pauses to read note)
22
Neutral 50
Oh dear... no, no. This can only mean one thing.
23
DLC04MarcellaLetterResponse
What's wrong? What did the letter say?
Fear 50
Long ago, the Blackhall family possessed a terrible heirloom, a book of evil rituals, best forgotten. The Krvibi have their origins in it.
24
Fear 50
The book was stolen years ago, though the Krvibi have never known of the theft. Their fear has kept the Blackhall Family safe these long years.
25
Neutral 50
They'd never be so bold... that foul book is back in Point Lookout, and they must have it! We can't allow them to keep it.
26
DLC04MarcellaLetterWhatToDo
What do you expect me to do?
Neutral 50
We must get it back before the Krvibi learn anything from it.
27
Neutral 50
There's a ritual site... I'm certain they'll be hiding it there. I don't know yet what we must do, but for now it's enough to steal the book.

DLC04MarHolotapeMessage
Pained 50
They attacked while I slept. I.. I don't expect to survive. I only pray that you haven't taken that book to Obadiah. You must take up my mission. {Recorded as she lies dying of wounds. Ad-lib coughs, etc, but not overboard.}
29
Neutral 50
There is... one way to utterly destroy the Krivbeknih, but you must take a pilgrimage, far north of Point Lookout, in the Capital Wasteland.
30
Neutral 50
Seek a place called Dunwich. Within is an obelisk, itself a wicked thing. It'll consume the book - you need only press the book to its surface.
31
Neutral 50
May God shed his blessings upon you, child. Make haste for Dunwich. {losing her strength, she finishes her message.}
32
Pained 50
My God, I am sorry for all my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should... {quietly, saying Act of Contrition to herself. She either turns the recorder off or takes her last breath as she fades }
33
DLC04MarIntro01
Pleased to meet you, Marcella.
Neutral 50
The feeling is mutual, child. I'd enjoy sharing my belief in the Faith, if you'll listen.
34
DLC04MarIntro02
The Faith? Let me guess - another doomsday cult?
Neutral 50
No, not exactly. I'd be happy to tell you more about my beliefs, if you're interested.
35
DLC04MarIntro03
Shouldn't you be at the Cathedral with the Tribals?
Neutral 50
That's an ironic choice of words, actually.
36
Neutral 50
That Cathedral was once a sanctuary of the Faith, true.
37
Neutral 50
Those who inhabit it now, however, are not of the Faith and won't suffer my presence. So no, child - that Cathedral is no place for me.
38
DLC04MarKriv0Intro01
He has, as a matter of fact.
Neutral 50
I thought as much. Listen to me very carefully, child. You mustn't bring it to him.
39
Neutral 50
That book is known as the Krivbeknih, and it's a thing of evil purpose.
40
DLC04MarKriv0Intro02
Maybe. So what if he has?
Neutral 50
Please, you don't understand what it is you're sent to fetch. That book, the Krivbeknih, is a thing of evil.
41
DLC04MarKrivbeknih01
Krivbeknih? What are you on about?
Neutral 50
Yes, the Krivbeknih. The Blackhall family has a long, evil history with the book.
42
Neutral 50
It was lost to them long ago, but it's found a way back to Point Lookout, and Obadiah seeks to reclaim it.
43
DLC04MarKrivbeknih02
I don't know what you're talking about, woman. Step aside.
Anger 50
I will not be dismissed by you!
44
Neutral 50
That book has been lost to the Blackhalls for generations, and I intend to make sure it stays lost.
45
DLC04MarKrivMotives
Why do you want it so badly?
Anger 50
Obadiah's no better than the heathens he's asked you to steal it from. He believes he can use it to control them, and God knows what else.
46
Neutral 50
There's a way to destroy that damned thing. I intend to do just that.
47
DLC04MarKrivPayment
Obadiah's paying. How about you?
Neutral 50
I can't promise you money, but I have some medical supplies I can share. Please; it would be a good thing you do.
48
DLC04MarKrivQuestAgree
If I recover the book, I'll consider bringing it to you.
Neutral 50
I ask no more. You can find me at my tent on the beach, south of Blackhall. God bless your path, child.
49
DLC04MarPtLookout00TopLvl
What do you think of Point Lookout?
Neutral 50
I'm relatively new here myself, but I'll share what I can.
50
DLC04MarPtLookoutFetishes
What do you make of all the bones and dolls on sticks around here?
Neutral 50
Swampfolk fetishes or totems. They probably mark territorial lines, or maybe are involved with rituals of some kind.
51
Neutral 50
I've read about a lot of primitive beliefs that use similar symbols. Vodou magic, Santería, Obeah. Fascinating, if somewhat disturbing.
52
Neutral 50
Though the underlying beliefs seem quite dark, I'm not sure they're anything more than an empty set of traditions to the swampfolk.
53
DLC04MarPtLookoutLocals
What do you think of the locals?
Neutral 50
Hostile, in a word. I try to observe, but the swampfolk are dangerously aggressive to any outsiders. Lucky for us, they tend to keep to the swamp.
54
DLC04MarPtLookoutMedicalTents
Did you set this campsite up?
Neutral 50
Sort of - the tents were collapsed when I found them. I was able to put them back together. This one smells the least like a wet Brahmin.
55
Neutral 50
I restored a terminal in one of the other tents. From that it would seem these tents were originally put here before the War by medical workers.
56
DLC04MarPtLookoutWhereYouFrom
You said you're not from around here?
Neutral 50
I come from the Abbey of the Road. I'm what you might call a missionary. I travel the Wastes, spreading the Faith and doing good where I can.
57
You said you're not from around here?
Neutral 50
Right, I'm from the Abbey of the Road. I'm afraid its location is secret, however.
58
DLC04TalkSomethingElse
Let's talk about something else.
Neutral 50
That book is of the utmost importance, we shouldn't be chatting idly. {polite but hurried.}
59
Let's talk about something else.
Neutral 50
What else do you want to discuss?
60
GREETING
Neutral 50
Wait a moment. I need to know; has Obadiah sent you in search of a book?
61
Neutral 50
Please; there's nothing for us to discuss until you retrieve that book from the ritual site. You must hurry.
62
Neutral 50
Greetings, child. I'm Marcella, missionary and student of the Faith. How are you?
63
Neutral 50
Speak your mind, love.
64
