Major Barnett was the military overseer of the Forced Evolutionary Virus experiments at West Tek.
Background[]
Barnett ordered the West Tek research team to experiment with the FEV on March 21, 2075, believing the new quad-helix DNA structure that its mutations caused to be the next step in human evolution. Though he was aware of the virus' effects on replicative stability, he was more concerned with its potential side effects. After several raccoon test subjects escaped containment in January the following year, Barnett ordered that all remaining subjects be terminated.
In January 2077, he ordered the transfer of all FEV research to the newly-constructed Mariposa Military Base, despite objections by the research team.[1]
