Atanas Atanasov is the President of Masthead Studios, the Bulgarian developer assisting Interplay Entertainment in Project V13 (Fallout Online). He has worked at the company since 2005.
He was also a principal player in the Bethesda Softworks LLC v Masthead Studios Ltd court case.
Project V13 involvement[]
Following the announcement of Project V13/Fallout Online, Atanas Atanasov approached Interplay through the Interplay Forums seeking a tie up between the two companies. Masthead offered to jumpstart Interplay's development through use of the MMORPG engine used in Earthrise. A short time later, Masthead was able to demonstrate a playable work in process to Interplay, which lead to a letter of intent between the two companies to use the engine. Interplay valued Masthead's planned total contribution at $US20 Million.[1]
Following the Bethesda Softworks LLC v. Interplay Entertainment Corporation court case, Masthead suspended work on the title but was eventually sued directly in Bethesda Softworks LLC v Masthead Studios Ltd where Atanas Atanasov submitted an affidavit supporting Masthead's opposition of Bethesda's proposed default judgement motion against them.[2]
