What If: The Minutemen never collapsed?
Premise: In 2180, a militia group in the Commonwealth known as the Minutemen rise to prominence following the defense of Diamond City against a mutant attack. The group soon goes on to establish Fort Independence as it's headquarters and aid the people of the Bostonian area, even going so far as to attempt to set up a unified government in the area. In 2240, Fort Independence is attacked by a pack of mirelurks and their queen; despite some casualties, General McGann and his forces successfully repel the mirelurks and keep the fort. The Minutemen also manage to survive various attacks from raider gangs and the Gunners and solidify key settlements im the Commonwealth, as well as their own structure. How would the Commonwealth change with having a stable Minutemen presence? Would the Minutemen make any further attempts at a CPG if they had never become weak? How would the War of the Commonwealth proceed with the Minutemen as a stronger force, and how would the other three participants view them? What differences would there be in the Minutemen, in general?
