If requesting a link between two Wikis, is it necessary to request one link for each direction?

i.e. the White Wolf Wiki recently opened a Spanish-language version. I've already requested

I didn't think it was necessary, but links out of the Spanish Wiki don't appear to be functioning. --Ian talk 18:44, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

You do need to request every linking on its own.--AB 19:33, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
No, one way/request is enough. Right now we have a problem with doing some of the interwikis and TOR is looking at it -- your problem might be because of that.-- BlueDevil Talk 20:29, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Whoops, sorry.--AB

Interwiki on the new skin[]

I have question - are the interlanguage links don't working anymore on the Oasis? Because I don't see it on the wikis with activated new skin (and IW code is on the page). Final_Cannon 08:16, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

I missed that too, I hope they will not forgot it. But it shows us how unfinished the new skin still is. Drudenfusz 11:44, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
They seem to appear on the bottom of the page...

Done. --User? 23:57, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Interwiki Redirects[]

Is there a way to have a hard redirect between two wikis. My request to interwiki casualty and holby city wikis was denied and so I want to know if there is a way to do it.

Please give me an answer and not just reasons why it could cause problems - I know them already. Eladkse @Project Holby 20:10, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Sorted. Sorry for bothering you. Eladkse @Project Holby 16:23, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Old requests[]

Is anyone going to go through old requests? Toontown Wiki has been waiting for almost a month now, since I've updated it with which wiki to interwiki... {{SUBST:User:Bermuda/sig|04:49,9/24/2011}}

Non-existing/made up languages[]

I am currently creating a wiki which is about a made up world, it will feature several non-existing/made up languages amoung other things. I was wondering, would it be possible and allowed for me to make pages in one of those other languages, and somehow link them together in a similar way as is done here?Nawichusea 22:34, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

'Wrong language code][]

Where does one post wikis which have been accidentally given the wrong language - in this case [1] which has 'default English'? Jackiespeel (talk) 14:45, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

Just A Question[]

What is the average wait time for interlanguage links?

CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 22:15, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

It varies. It depends on how active the admins here are. Shyguy-emoticon.gifJoey (talk)

That means it might take a while :( Oh, well. Hopefully soon.

Codes[]

I just got interlanguage links for the Just Dance Wiki (yay!) but I'm not sure how they work. I know it's the following:

  • English=???
  • Spanish (Latin America)=es
  • Spanish (Spain)=???
  • French=fr
  • Polish=pl?
  • Portuguese=pt
  • Braz. Portuguese=pt-br
  • Russian=ru
  • Chinese=zh
  • Japanese=ja
  • German=de

Please help

Here is a link to all codes: [2]. Look for the 2 digit codes in the second column. The Crossblade (talk) 12:19, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Oops, sorry[]

I accidentally made two Sly Cooper wiki requests. When I made the first request, a page popped up and said that the site wasn't responding or something like that, and when I went back, I didn't realize that the requests are ordered newest at the bottom. I hope that doesn't mess anything up. -Teenbat, Sly Cooper Wiki bureaucrat (talk ยค contributions) 23:15, May 16, 2016 (UTC)

It's fine, don't worry. Shyguy-emoticon.gifJoey (talk)

Questions and suggestions[]

  1. I have once requested a language change - before there were any requirements or I missed the requirements section. When I requested another request (8 days ago) I completely glanced over the requirements section and I just submitted the request. I would suggest to move the request button under "Requirements" section, so the requirements will be harder to miss.
  2. How long do these request take to be approved? I know that Fandom staff has a lot of things to do and I don't expect that request will be approved immediately. From the activity I have noticed on this page, a couple of workdays should be expected, right? I think that information should also be on the page.
  3. Where are previous requests (approved and denied) stored? I have noticed the "archive", but it doesn't store the most recent ones. Does a new page of the archive get added only after it has enough requests? Is it like a security issue or something? I would greatly appreciate it, if someone would add this information on the page as well (since there is already an archive - very confusing).

Hopefully someone reads this page and answers my questions and at leasts considers the suggestions I put forward. Thank you in advance. The Crossblade (talk) 12:43, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Archive page[]

The "archives" at the top of this page is not updated any more. The "open request" does not show all the request. I think it is better to link to Category:Awaiting_interlanguage_link_requests to list the awaited requests at the easily accessible place. ๐ŸŸ Fish fish fish ... ๐Ÿ  16:54, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
