Great product selection and customer service. Need to watch out for module sizes though, just because an adapter board appears in the "you might also want to buy" banner, it doesn't necessary mean it's actually compatible.

Universal Solder has a decent variety of products at a reasonable price. Some kits are their own and others are the same variety that can be found on "discount sites from over seas", these tend to be the better ones that will work and are not as inexpensive, but you know that it will work as advertised. It is a Canadian company, which makes it a great choiice. Shipping is very fast and reliable. I've ordered from them many times and all were properly and promptly fulfilled.

Don't know how you're able to compete with EBay, AliExpress and Amazon... but by the time I factor in customs and shipping, you're always the better price! Supporting a Canadian business makes it even better.

Prompt shipping, reasonable prices, very responsive customer service response on questions, make mail order fun again. Saves weeks over buying things off mysterious far-off Web sites. Not a source for everything, but enough of the "glue" items like discrete resistors, transistors, etc. to put together a complete MCU based project. Integrated "mini-PLC" systems eliminate tedious redesign of real-world-level I/O and let me concentrate on the problems I want to solve.

All the items purchased from Universal-Solder except one (DC-DC Step-Up Switching Regulator like 7805, 0.9- 5 V input) arrived in good shape as tested. The defective item gave an output of only a few miilivolts for the range of input from 1V to 4V. I sent a similar report using your 'contact us' link, even asking if there could be some kind of compensation, but to no avail. I did not get any reply. Overall, I am satisfied with the other items and the pricing. One suggestion about the Bread Board Power Supply: Please consider covering / insulating the terminal ends in some fashion to avoid accidental short circuiting. Thanks.

I have been ordering electronics, controllers and sensors from Universal Solder for years. All of the products have been great. The owner responds quickly to emails when I have questions. Some of the products are difficult to find elsewhere, some products like the soldering kits are just fun.

Good turnaround time. Time of order to time of shipping is very short. Shipping time is decent but that's Canada Post's responsibility.
Prices are very reasonable.
Shopping Canadian is a priority over Chinese suppliers. If the item here is a dollar or two more, I'll shop here. Shipping is faster than from China as well.

Universal Solder is the best thing to happen to hobbyists in Canada. We can get most of the items available on the Chinese sites without the ridiculous delivery times, not to mention, lost goods.

You were very responsive to my questions for a new commer to purchase some components. However, the shipping cost prohibit me to purchase more devices.
However, you may like to open an storage facility in Montreal, so, you will sevice the engineering activities around here. Your prices are still compatitive in comparing to the cost of devices in montreal for small projects.

We are planning to be a lot closer to Montreal by August 2021, witch expected standard shipping times to bigger cities in Ontario and Quebec of about 2-3 days.

On my second order from Universal, I received a wrong size proto board (smaller) so I emailed them, asking to send the correct size. After few days, I received no response, so I went ahead and bought the board from Amazon. Checking my mail today, I got an envelope with the board I ordered. So while customer support was good, the lack of communication didn't make it helpful. I would've given them 5 stars otherwise. Price is fantastic and selection is good.
