This map was originally created in April 2010. It has now been updated for Minecraft 1.8, to utilize a custom resource pack for audio narration!
SINGLE PLAYER: The custom resource pack is embedded in the world save and will automatically be utilized when you launch the map. No need to install anything separtely!
MULTIPLAYER: All players will need to take the resources.zip file from inside this archive and install separately.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

@}-,-- UNIQUE FEATURES @}-,--
_________________________________
* A new twist on a familiar theme
* Includes over 7 minutes of recorded narration at 'checkpoints'!
* Carefully sequenced loot progression
* Challenge: Can you find all of the characters, hidden in chests?
* 3 custom skins included!
* Heart-pounding action (if you want story, I recommend play through on 'peaceful'. Even 'easy' can be difficult)
1. DO NOT mine or break any blocks, with a few exceptions. YOU CAN break: Glass, Mob Spawners, and Torches. You can break any block that you place (including levers).
2. If you do acquire blocks, YOU CAN use them as barricades/shelters, but DO NOT use them as stairs or bridges.
3. YOU CAN dump water buckets, but DO NOT use lava buckets.
4. DO NOT use crafting tables, with a few exceptions. YOU CAN craft anything that fits in the 2x2 inventory area (e.g. torches). YOU CAN use a crafting table only to create a bow or arrows.
5. DO NOT step on the Mome Raths!

I'll be more then happy to play this map when it's done ^^ can't wait.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Take a step into my world... a world where anything is possible... a world where a quiet "hiss" behind you, means you must expect more then just a snake bite...
I am going to be monitoring this thread and PMs for any suggestions on future versions, but plan to focus my time on my custom narration mod. Keep your fingers crossed - it's going to separate good [Adv] maps from awesome ones!
Found one new 'bug'. I provided materials to make the bow, but neglected to provide flint and feather (and enough sticks) for arrows. Going on the 'to do' list!!
Updated main entry with new, brighter screenshots!
was pretty entertaining. i love the novels as well as the original disney movie.
the map was fun
but there are a few things i didn't like about it
there were wayyy to many mobs.
it got pretty bad to the point where i didnt want to play the map
the forest section was insanely hard. and in the process of finding my way through it, i somehow missed the jukebox and the chest
the jukebox in the garden was really hidden as well.
overall i think you should improve the lighting around the areas so extra mobs like creepers dont blow everything to hell
i loved all of the buildings and structures in this
(side note) i played with the "jolicraft" texture pack and it looked amazing, better than the screen shots.
Picture me rubbing my hands together with gleefully evil reaction. But I'm going to PM you some of my reply to avoid spoilers, and I'll reply publicly after others have had a chance to play.

Yes. That forest is a crazy can be a chokepoint that I didn't intend to be so hard. Even with no mob spawners on 'easy' I almost wiped.
BUT... since my last map was too 'easy' I couldn't bring myself to make it easier. Contrarilywise, there is one stretch of the map that is easier than I intended (if you get there during the day, which I am pretty sure most people will), so I decided to keep both as is.

The highest thing on my 'wish list' is to find a way to stop random creepers from spawning. They really screw up the mazes. The prolem is, if I add more lighting, then nothing spawns. I was going to put a difficulty 'warning' in my top post, but I thought just maybe I was a lightweight adventurer and folks might criticise me that it wasn't hard enough - maybe I will now...

Played the map and loved it. I love everything Wonderland related! I too missed the sixth jukebox though, but i listened to it anyway.
Very glad you enjoyed it and I didn't shmear the good name of Wonderland! :smile.gif:
Finding all of the character chests is a sub-challenge.

P.S Did you do all the narration? Love your voice.
Almost all. And it was one of the most fun parts.
I had 2 other people lined up to do voices, but real life interfered with my 4/8 release deadline and I got onto a roll and just did it myself. I'm sure someone will point out that there is background noise on my mic, but I felt it sounded like crickets so I left it in. AND if anyone is looking to find free/simple/powerful tool for mixing audio, I was amazed at finding AUDACITY. I really really thought audio was going to take days... but it was only 4 hours from first 'test' to final product. I will definitely be doing more audio for future maps.
Sorry for the double post but my 1st video is up for the Wonderland Let's Play!

Nice. I see how you passed 2 of the hidden chests. It's so nice to SEE someone else play the level - I noticed 3 things that are going to go on my change list for the next version. Invaluable!

THANKS AGAIN for your interest.
Its always better to see visuals :tongue.gif:
Plus I'm not done yet, just taking a break at the moment.
Thanks! I just got a chance to watch. Thank you for your comments!
In the slimes room, I was thinking the green wool would look like a slime puddle on the checked floor, but it's really not anything more than a red herring path. Look forward to hearing if you played through the other 9 'areas'!

I would love it.
I'm hoping the Yogscast guys see this. They filmed my other map.

Sweet. :biggrin.gif:
I'll get working on it right now since I have to wait for my video to upload.
