The complete history since 2006 has been transferred, adding more than 26000 studies to the previously existing 9000 studies from the Netherlands.

Following the earlier addition of the studies from the old National Trial Register (NTR), the addition of the studies from ToetsingOnline.nl is the second step in expanding the public research data on Onderzoekmetmensen.nl and on ICTRP. All studies will be identified by a new OMON-NL id, the old identifiers from NTR and ToetsingOnline will still be available as secondary identifiers.

Netherlands - NTR

6 April 2022: Following the application of the new EU Clinical Trial Regulation (CTR) which started on 31-1-2022 and the plans to merge the Netherlands Trial Registry (NTR) registry with the CCMO registry, It is not possible anymore to register a new study with the NTR. The merge is not yet finalized due to technical issues and unfortunately it is not possible to register a study in the NTR during this transition phase. The 9822 studies already registered in the NTR will of course be transferred to the new registry while remaining in the ICTRP database, and the registration number (NL XXXX) can continue to be used when a study is published in a scientific journal. In addition, as a researcher it remains possible to make changes to registered studies in order to keep the registry up-to-date. New studies in the Netherlands can be registered with other registries like ISRCTN, Clinicaltrials.gov or the EUCTR

The NTR registry is on probation for 3 months as of 4/4/2022, as they do not meet the criteria to being a primary registry anymore (criteria number 1). At the end of the probation period and if it is not extended, the registry will lose its primary registry status.
