Downloadable Mini Mob Skin Packs for Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition!
Hello PMC!
Six days ago we released the Mob Skin update and the community has already posted over 800 mob skins! You've proven once again that creativity has no bounds. We're laughing, crying, hurling, face palming and dying to get these mobs into our game where they can live a long or maybe a very short life!
Today, we've released the missing link to get these custom mob skins into your Minecraft game, Downloadable Mini Mob Packs! We support 60+ mobs in PMCSkin3D but many of them have multiple variations in the game. The cat mob has 7 variations in Java Edition and 11 variations in the Bedrock Edition alone. Ultimately, we currently support exporting mob skins into 286 downloadable variations!
Under all mob skins, you'll find a big button that's labeled "DOWNLOAD MINECRAFT MOB SKIN PACK".
A dialog will open giving you options to customize the Mini Mob pack. You choose which mob to replace for what platform you're playing on.
* Game version selection. This simply sets the pack.mcmeta pack_format to match the version you selected to avoid having a bunch of red "incompatible" packs that are actually compatible. We don't currently enforce / limit what mobs can be exported for what game version. For example, you can export a Bee for versions older than 1.15, but why would you do that? It's up to you to know what mobs are in the game version you're playing.
live_help How to install Mob Resource Packs in Minecraft!
It's the exact same process that you install "normal" resource packs. If you're familiar with that process, do that.
Otherwise, follow these steps:
1) Download the Mob Pack .zip file
2) Open the folder that contains the downloaded .zip
3) Copy the .zip file
4) Open Minecraft
5) Click Options, then Resource Packs
6) Click Open Resource Pack Folder
7) Paste the .zip file into the /resourcepack/ folder.
8) In Minecraft, you should see the Mob pack under "Available Resource Packs". If not, click Done, then click Open Resource Pack Folder again.
9) Hover over the Mob Pack under "Available Resource Packs", click the Arrow to add it to your "Selected Resource Packs"
10) Click Done. You're ready to play.
You can add multiple custom mob packs by repeating the process above. We've attempted to label them in a way that you can keep track of what's what.
cake Time to celebrate with Snoop Dogg in Minecraft! Because we can.

Looks really cool!
YESSSS!
GENIUS :D
Clicking download doesn't seem to download anything on my end. Running latest version of Chrome, so far tried downloading a ghast skin and llama skin, neither worked.
Hmm, I just tried both of the mobs you did and they worked. I'm using latest Chrome as well.
I don't think it should matter but what options are you choosing before downloading the pack?

Here's a video of me attempting to download the Ghast skin linked in the above post.

Also, while I've got you here, did you ever get my Discord friend request?

THIS IS BEYOND EXCITING OKAY
epic!!!
Very Good!
Added Slimes to available downloadable mob packs. Missed the blob due to a geometry mismatch.
I can't make this work,I put the .zip file into the resourcepack folder and load it in game but it wouldn't change the mob's skin. How should I fix this?(And I download many different skins for different mobs from many different authors and none of those work so I don't think it's the zip's problem)
After putting the zip into your resource pack folder, do you see the pack in the resource selection screen?
If so, are you hovering over the pack and moving it into "Selected Resource Packs"?
Lastly, are you on Bedrock or Java?

I did everything you said and it still didn't change,I'm pretty sure the "NORMAL" PC version is java right?
Yes. Which mob(s) are not working for you? I'll try them out.

I downloaded a lot so there one of them.I don't think you'll want to try all of them one by one.(And I also don't have them all bookmarked so need to take some time to search for them)Also thank you so much for helping me!And if you really want to check all of them please tell me.

I tried the phantom one that you linked to and it worked on Java Edition 1.15.1.
I have a feeling that since none of the mob skins you're downloading are working and you're not certain of which version you're using, that you're Bedrock Edition. Try downloading them for Bedrock Editon.
We don't currently support exporting the Phantom for Bedrock edition because it needs to be in .tga format. We plan to add support in the future.

I don’t know how to do it
I have noticed that with some of the mobs the skins do not work very well or at all, for example zombies, fox, and horses for me the skin shows at the wrong orientation and some areas do not show at all.
Examples:
Examples:
you cant make a texture for the breaking iron golem...
Some of the ghasts I made fling around an old castle I made years ago

I know this thread is old, buuutt.. I tried to use my fox skin pack, but it comes out broken? I'm in 1.15.2, but it looks all.. icky..
I installed it correctly, looks like someone else also had trouble with foxes? Is there a way I can fix this?

That poor fox. I think we fixed this long ago but never responded. Can you confirm?
I forgot I made this post tbh. Also I'm just going to go ahead and assume it works now since I don't wanna go from 1.16 to 1.15 and have my keyboard settings be messed up.
Welp thank you!

is there any way i can play as a mob?
yeah with the morph mod
Nope, you can only do it with mods to play as a mob in Minecraft
Is it possible to take multiple mob skin textures and compile them into one compact folder? would it be as easy as putting the download files into one folder and putting that into the minecraft resource pack folder?
The zombie skins are always messed up or are glitched
Oh my mob skin is zombie :|
And it's my favorite mob skin as well ;D
Can you do this for Bedrock Windows 10?
If the model is java, no.
It won't work for me, Can you make a tutorial for mcpe perhaps?
