Basically, what you do is you create your own mod which, in this case, is very simple.
1) Open the "Forgotten Construction Set". (That's a separate .exe file in your installed game location, for GOG users, it's called FCS_gog.exe)
2) In the initial window, leave everything as it is, and just press the "create a new mod" button (on the right side of the window). You will be prompted to name your mod, so just name it in any way you like (for example, Recruits and Squads), then press the big DONE button.
3) Press "Global game settings" on the top Menu Bar.
4) In the newly opened window, go to "faction". There are three numbers there:
a) max faction size - Max. number of recruits you can have (default = 30, NOTE: You can set this to up to 256) b) max squad size- Max. number of recruits in any squad (default = 20) c) max squads- Max. number of squads that you can have (default = 10)
Here, you can just edit these numbers. Although only specified for the first variable, all three should have an absolute maximum of 256.
5) Finally, save the mod. That's it, you are done (and the mod should already be activated and ready to use).
after having this mod enabled i still see squad size 21/30 and teams are -/20 maks, i dont tryed to add 21th unit to same team with others yet NVM version for 0.98 works all good
I may have found out why its not working or being seen in the launcher. Checking the file names, the Mod Folder is "256 recruit and squad", but the Filename inside the folder is "250 recruit and squad" for some reason. Make sure the .MOD file in the folder is changed from 250 to 256, or that the Folder and .MOD file have the exact same name. That got it showing for me in the pre-launcher
For people who want a more logical limit, simply change Global Constants > Max Faction Size to 200. Vanilla settings for the rest (Max squad size of 20 units, and a limit of 10 squads) means you can now recruit exactly enough people to fill all 10 squads.
Simple, easy and logical! :D -- so I just named my version of the mod 'Logical Limits' xD

You say, the Max number of Recruits per Squad is 20 (let's leave it Vanilla)
And Max number of Squads is 10 (let's leave it Vanilla)

With 256, Max Number of Squads should be 13...
Unless one instead of 256 uses 200... with Max members in Squad being 20 and default 10 Squads?.. then that's it..
If not i guess one should change a lot of things..
have you tested that? and.. only up to 256? can't be more?
