For each transect ((a)-(l)), all observations are binned in conservative temperature-absolute salinity space, coloured by dye concentration. Contours of potential density anomaly are marked every 0.05 kg m−3. The first tracer-weighted density moment is marked with the circle. The potential density anomaly of the dye at the time of release is marked with a pink star.
