    Dear Leaders, If you have an employee coming to you with an issue, especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds… Your first response SHOULD NOT BE phrases like the following: - You're overreacting - Don’t take it personally - Don’t think that way - It’s not that big of a deal You may not be aware of it, but these statements are imbued with personal judgement and invalidating your employees experience. Making it less likely for them to surface challenges to you in the future. Instead, your first response should always be to LISTEN and pause. You don't always need to respond in the moment. A simple "What can I do to help?" can go a long way #consciousleadership #mindfulleadership #inclusivework
