Nestlé has claimed the top spot in the 2023 Coffee Brew Index for coffee sustainability. We're thrilled to see the recognition from The Coffee Barometer, recognizing our commitment to the social, environmental, and economic aspects of coffee production. ☕🌱 David Rennie, Nestlé's Head of Coffee Brands, shares, “This is a testament to our unwavering dedication to sustainable coffee. With programs like the Nescafé Plan and the Nestlé Nespresso SA AAA Sustainable Quality, we're partnering with coffee farmers worldwide to ensure a sustainable, inclusive coffee future. Our journey continues with even more innovative approaches to sustainable coffee farming.” This achievement is backed by Solidaridad Network and Conservation International and coordinated by Ethos Agriculture in the 2023 Coffee Brew Index. Congratulations on this impressive recognition! As someone who has recycled the most coffee grounds (200+ tons since 2012, including this morning's 649 pounds of coffee grounds for Berea Community Learning Farm) as supply chain sourced/procured in the United States for urban farms and community gardens. Related, this aligns well with Coffee Barometer's four central challenges of (1) Long-term stability for small-scale growers meeting consumer expectations (2) Livable and ecological thriving for millions of coffee farmers (3) Sustainability among the world's top (11) roasters and (4) Frameworks of ESG. These focus areas overlap and are similar criteria for other sustainable coffee sourcing like Smithsonian's Bird-Friendly Coffee under framework criteria CG-SR2 Maintaining Soil Productivity and CG-CB1 Maintaining a Coffee Shade Canopy. I am thrilled to see the unification of standardization certifications that establish strong vetting and sourcing. Inspiring achievement, Nestle! -From a job applicant for the position Sr Specialist Sustainable Sourcing #269136
