Singapore has strengths in this area that need to be rapidly built upon and expanded. NATi aims to drive the R&D of RNA medicines into the clinic, through developing new enabling technologies; partnering with industry on technologies and assets; supporting researchers in their development of RNA medicines; and developing alliances with clinical and regulatory key opinion leaders. Singapore aims to become a world-class hub for nucleic acid therapeutics, which would achieve excellence in research and clinical translation, strengthen resilience against future pandemics, and support a vibrant biotech ecosystem. The Senior Assistant Director / Assistant Director (Business Development) will work closely with NATi Leadership to plan and implement a national-level programme to establish RNA medicines and manufacturing as the 4th pillar of Singapore's biopharmaceutical economy. Responsibilities Formulate economic strategies driven by intellectual property to seed and grow the nucleic acid therapeutics industry in Singapore Assess and support NATi projects to ensure economic value capture through research collaborations, services, licensing, spin-off, and other means Foster, execute, and manage win-win partnerships to accelerate the development and commercialisation of RNA medicines, RNA manufacturing, and other enabling technologies, through NATi projects Build global awareness of and confidence in NATi, including but not limited to representing NATi in external meetings and international conferences Grow and maintain a global network of potential industry and academic collaborators as well as key opinion leaders Conduct market analysis and establish channels for market intelligence Uphold best practices for confidentiality, policy compliance, financial prudence, and documentation Contribute to planning, reporting, and other ad hoc duties as required Qualifications and Skills At least 5 years of business development, commercialisation, licensing, innovation, venture creation, and/or related work experience, preferably in private-sector Pharma/Biotech Bachelor or Masters (PhD is advantageous) in biochemistry, biomedical / life sciences, biomedical engineering, business management with experience in a biomedical research environment, or an equivalent discipline In-depth knowledge of drug discovery and development is preferred Proven ability to exert influence at multiple levels across an organisation with strong collaboration and persuasion skills to achieve intended outcomes Outstanding abilities for writing, oral communication, and presentations for a broad range of audience, including senior management Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Proactive team player motivated to deliver quickly and accurately Willingness to learn and adapt Comfortable with hybrid work arrangements The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
